About Palmetto Fur The Season

"There are so many furries but so many of us are spread out, and in the low-country, organized meets for us to organize at are very rare." Since 2018, the furry fandom has grown rapidly due to social media platforms and this new generation of furries coming into the fandom is HUGE, and growth in attendance numbers at conventions show this. I strongly believe that South Carolina has the furry population to support a South Carolina based convention. However, before jumping into that, we want to start with seasonal meets first to learn from and put some numbers on paper instead of jumping head first into organizing a convention.”

Lightz and Baja have experience running and organizing a large, Invite-only furry meet group called the CHS Snoot Boopers, a Bi-weekly meetup group based in Charleston, SC. We have hosted meets from local parks to naval warships, as long as we get consent to host and it's safe to suit, there is no place we will not meet, Palmetto Fur The Season just feels like the next step. 

When will this event go from a quarterly meet to more of a formal convention? 

“Well first, I want our staff team to have experience with running events through PFTS. Second and most importantly, I want to host PFTS in at least 4 different locations across the state. Greenville, Colombia, Myrtle Beach, and Charleston are the main four I have in mind. I want to see what locations not only bring out the most amount of furries, but are accessible to all across the state. 

Lastly, I have an attendance number in mind that once PFTS hits consistently, I will seriously start talking with more individuals and connections/mentors I have about gaining footing for our own South Carolina state based convention” - Peachylightz
